PLAYERS TO WATCH
1. Elina SVITOLINA (#5)
Svitolina has been under the radar in the Top 10 for the past few years, but is yet to breakthrough to a maiden Grand Slam final. Her run at the Australian Open 2021 was stopped in the Quarter Finals (lost to Muchova) and she will be looking to validate her top seeding here in Doha with a strong performance amongst hard hitting competition.
2. Aryna SABALENKA (#8)
Sabalenka has been on a tear since Roland Garros 2020 back in October, compiling an 18/2 win loss record through 5 events (winning 3 titles along the way). She started 2021 with a title in Abu Dhabi amongst strong competition and will be looking to replicate that success in similar condition at an event she won this time last year.
3. Jennifer BRADY (#13)
Brady had a dream run to make her maiden Grand Slam final at the Australian Open last month (lost to Osaka) and with that came a career high ranking of world number 13. With a target now on her back as a serious contender, she will be hoping to push closer to a Top 10 break through with a strong performance this week.
